Meet the Quilt Designer!

Hey There!

I’m Sarah, an avid reader, flower gardener, wannabe homesteader with a passion for fabric and quilting! I’m a follower of Jesus Christ with a heart for serving! Now, a quilt designer!

On Paper (Credentials): Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Merchandising and Product Development with a minor in Marketing; Master’s Degree in Education

For the past 9 years, I taught preschool special education. It was a rewarding career, yet I had this dream. I couldn’t shake the desire to start my own business. I’d dabbled in trying to start something for years, but this past year with the encouragement of my husband, spurred me to step away from education to pursue Fields of Patchwork full time!

How it started…

I’ve always had a love for fabric and creating. Ever since I was little, I wanted to learn how to sew. When I was in elementary school, my ninety year old, next door neighbor took me on as a project. She taught me how to make PJ shorts, pillowcases, and the basics. Later on, another neighbor taught me how to quilt. I spent every Monday night at her house throughout high school, practicing the art of quilting. She spurred my love for quilting. Ever since, I’ve had multiple projects going at once and an ever growing collection of fabric.

How it’s going…

I can now say, I’m a quilt pattern designer! My designs are inspired by my love for history and nature, more specifically flowers. They emphasize comfort and timeless beauty, blending vintage influences with modern techniques. Therefore, my first quilt pattern will be published in Spring of 2025. Stay tuned!
