Rooted in Love Quilt Pattern – A Quilt with Purpose
Love, you’re not alone.
-Isaiah 1:17

A couple of years ago, I came across an episode of Returning the Favor hosted by Mike Rowe featuring Rhonda Paulson, the founder of Isaiah 117 House. I didn’t expect it to impact me the way it did, but their mission stayed with me long after the episode ended.
If you’ve never heard of the Isaiah 117 House, I encourage you to take a few minutes to watch this short clip. It beautifully shares the heart behind the mission and why it matters so deeply.
Fast forward a couple of years, and I heard on the radio that an Isaiah 117 House was coming to my local area. It suddenly felt close to home.
Isaiah 117 House exists to reduce trauma for children who are removed from their homes and placed into foster care. Instead of waiting in a sterile government building or CPS office, children are welcomed into a warm, home-like space. They receive clean clothes, pajamas, toiletries, a warm meal, and comfort while caseworkers and foster families coordinate placement.
Can you imagine how frightening that moment must be?
Removed from everything familiar. Sitting in a conference room. Carrying belongings in a garbage bag. Wondering if they did something wrong.
No child should have to sleep in an office. Every child deserves to feel loved, safe, and worthy. That is why I’ve been honored to make and donate four Rooted in Love quilts directly to the house- a small way to wrap children in warmth and care during a scary time.
That is also why I created Rooted in Love as a PDF quilt pattern.
Rooted in Love Quilt Pattern

This 40” x 40” beginner-friendly quilt pattern uses traditional piecing and is designed to be scrap and fat quarter friendly — perfect for pulling from your stash and creating something meaningful. Made possible with generous fabric support from Benartex, the design allows you to thoughtfully combine colors and prints in a way that makes each quilt uniquely your own.
Rooted in Love is offered as a donation-based PDF, and all proceeds go directly to Isaiah 117 House. The pattern does not change at different price points — only the impact does. You simply choose the amount you feel called to give.
Inspired by Ephesians 3:17 — “that you, being rooted and established in love…” — my prayer is that as you sew this quilt, it becomes a reminder that love shows up in tangible ways.
Make it. Quilt with heart. Let it be rooted in love. 💛
